The Vielight Neuro Alpha is a wearable transcranial photobiomodualtion device for personal use. Actually, it is one of two Vielight’s next-generation transcranial-intranasal near infrared (NIR) photobiomodulation (PBM) devices. This PBM device delivers increased efficacy and potent transcranial PBM (tPBM) experience. The design of the Neuro Alpha is simple enough for personal use in the comfort of your own home. Convenient one-button-push operation provides comprehensive brain photobiomodulation sessions. Each session is timed to last 20 minutes. The Neuro Alpha device will turn off when the PBM session is over.
The dynamic design of the Neuro Alpha is a comprehensive upgrade of the original Vielight Neuro.
This powerful device features improved transcranial clusters and updated microchip LED boosting technology. This technology allowed to triple the previous power density of the LED light. With its refined form factor, the Neuro Alpha fits a wider variety of head shapes and sizes.
At present, our engineering team is able to extract one of the highest amounts of power from a pulsed near-infrared LED source. This is attained by incorporating microchip technology within the Neuro’s intranasal diode.
Differences between the Neuro Alpha and Neuro Gamma
Pulse rate difference:
- The 10 Hz pulse rate of the Vielight Neuro Alpha remains consistent with the pulse rate of the Vielight 810 and of the older Vielight Neuro devices. This pulse rate correlates with EEG alpha brain wave entrainment and cellular light absorption. Also, this pulse rate differs from the 40 Hz pulse rate of the Vielight Neuro Gamma, which has a stronger effect on memory enhancement.
Visibility and power density of the NIR light:
- Near-infrared light is nearly invisible to the naked eye, making the beam appear much dimmer than it actually is. The power density of the intranasal LED is 25 mW/cm2. The power density of the transcranial LED is 100 mW/cm2 per diode.
